Duxford Autumn Airshow

Duxford, 10 October 2010

The Duxford autumn show held at the Imperial War Museum there is the traditional closing of the UK airshow season, usually somewhere mid-October. It's an opportunity to admire some of the usual and quite often unusual suspects on the circuit, a show that never disappoints.

Make sure to play videos in high definition (720) and full screen for maximum effect.

The main celebration at the show was the 65th birthday of Sally B, the only airworthy flying B-17 in Europe, which is based at Duxford.
Probably the most welcome sight however was the return of the Royal Navy Historic Flight's Swordfish after a very lengthy restoration. Duxford also saw the only demonstration by an Army Air Corps Apache in 2010. Another noteworthy theme was a commemoration of the legendary Rothmans aerobatic team, aptly joined by the team's commentator Brendan O'Brien in the commentary box, after he had flown his own display. Also fitting in with this theme were the Redhawk Duo.
